ABOUT US
At the end of each academic year, a hefty price tag for art supplies comes as no surprise to the majority of studio art majors working toward their degrees. These accumulated expenses are typical for those studying painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, art education and more.
As a student works towards their BFA degree, it’s crucial to address this financial matter and find ways to allow students the experience of taking art courses without taking on the lofty price tag that accompanies it. The “Art Supply Exchange Program” is an initiative taking place in Bowling Green State University School of Art. This innovative new program will allow for students to donate their used art supplies from previous courses in exchange for already donated art supplies to which they can choose for their upcoming semesters. Ongoing exchanges will be considered the self-sustainable approach. The goal is that with every art supply donated, another is used.
The Art Supply Exchange's mission is to support and contribute to the community of student artists by offering quality supplies to accommodate their needs. We strive, constantly, to supply what the student is asking for; we continually review what is available in the donation collection; and by promoting the program, we maintain the exchange as a place of opportunity for students to be able to create.
